The 2024 Bunbury Junior Carnival is running again for junior players J5/6 to J9/10 for both girls and boys teams.
The Bunbury carnival will be held from 1 – 3 June 2024. It is a carnival for the age groups J5/6 to J9/10 and YM typically sends two (2) teams per age group to the carnival. It is a great carnival during the long weekend, where boys and girls get to play a large number of short games of 2 x 15-minutes halves, played both on grass and turf. It is also a fantastic opportunity for them to socialise with the team, club and their peers from other clubs.
The kids are invited to stay overnight at the Bunbury Cathedral Grammar school, where the years 5 to 8's will stay in the main hall, and the years 9/10's will stay in a separate hall, both groups are supervised by parents. Breakfast, dinners and transport between the school and Hay Park laying fields are included for everyone staying at the hall. For kids that do not wish to stay at the hall, they can still join for the carnival itself.
On Sunday evening, all YM players will spend an hour at Gravity (indoor trampoline facility), followed by pizza (in 2 shifts).
Similarly to last year, there will be a maximum of three 12-seater buses travelling on Friday afternoon from Perth to Bunbury, and returning on Monday. These seats are booked on a first come first served basis, and last year got booked out quickly. For those travelling to on the minibus, we have trailers to transport the kids gear.
Volunteers
For your child(ren) to participate in the carnival and keep the cost reasonable, we rely on the parents to volunteer in different ways. These include: assisting with breakfast, drive a mini bus, or spend one night supervising with the kids at Bunbury Grammar School (we need at least 1 parent per team per night). The cost for Bunbury Carnival WITHOUT accommodation is $115.
The cost includes the following

Option 2:
The cost for Bunbury Carnival WITH three nights accommodation is $230.
The cost includes the following:
- Registration for the Carnival, including umpires.
- Entry to Gravity on Sunday night
- A limited edition YM Bunbury Carnival 2024 souvenir
- Accommodation for 3 nights, dinner and breakfasts, transport from accomodation to playing field for players staying at Bunbury Grammar School.
Optional Extra:
Bus transfer from YM Club House to Bunbury (return): $45.
Note: There are 33 spaces available. The cost of the bus transfer is the same if the player is not returning to Perth on the bus. The Club reserves the right to reduce buses if there is not enough interest to fill all seats.
